1846: Foundation of Münchmeyer & Co.
The successful history of MPC Münchmeyer Petersen & Co. Group began on 10th August 1846 when Karl Georg Heinrich Franz Herrmann Münchmeyer founded the trading company Münchmeyer & Co. offering diverse services with regard to the delivery and financing of goods. Münchmeyer & Co. soon became a private merchant bank of international reputation.
1911: Foundation of Petersen & Co.
The second original member of the MPC Group was founded in 1911 and focused on international trading.
1972: Merging of Münchmeyer & Co. and Petersen & Co.
MPC Münchmeyer Petersen & Co. was initiated to strengthen the market presence and open new business areas. Mr. Axel Schroeder sen. became spokesman/managing partner of MPC Münchmeyer Petersen & Co. MPC Marine starts trading with shipbuilding material and equipment packages for the shipbuilding industry.
1994: Foundation of MPC Capital
MPC Capital is specialized in developing and marketing innovative, intelligent and high-quality investment concepts including participation in ship ownership. It is playing a pioneering role in this market and it is its policy to conceive and develop the best investments with the highest yield possible for their customers.
1999: Foundation of MPC Steamship
The ship-asset-management of the MPC Group is covered by MPC Steamship. This company was founded in order to take charge of the existing fleet, as well as using synergy potentials to her sister companies.
2000: Initial Public Offering (IPO) of MPC Capital
MPC Capital went public in order to accommodate the increased need for funding in a growing market. The share is today listed in the C-DAX and are offficially traded at the stock exchanges in Frankfurt (Main) and Hamburg.
Today
Today, MPC Marine is a preferred partner for shipyards and for ship owners, providing full support for the development and realization of maritime newbuilding projects of all kinds.
